Red Ball and Serenity Salon

Red Ball was once again attended by Serenity Salon on November 30th at the EXDO Event Center in Denver. This is Serenity’s fifth year attending this amazing event. Red Ball is not only a cutting-edge runway event, but also an incredible venue for raising AIDS awareness. Funds raised at this event directly support services provided by Denver Colorado AIDS Project. Over a dozen salons in the Denver area use the event to showcase their talent and innovative hairstyles. Serenity sent 4 of our stylists to the event. It’s such a great opportunity for our salon to show off our creativity as premier stylists. We also love seeing what other stylists.

How to achieve volume with your blow dryer

How to achieve volume with your blow dryer Here is a little 3 step trick for long lasting volume with your blowdryer. This trick not only works with wet hair, but can be used as a day-two pick me up if your style has gone flat. Make a peace sign with your fingers and place them along your part line at your front/fringe. Everything behind where your fingers are resting should NOT be parted. This crease takes away volume from your crown area by forcing the hair to fall forward or to your sides. Take all hair behind where your peace sign lays and blow dry while round brushing the hair upwards for.

At Serenity Salon, we are always looking to improve our styling techniques or introduce new ideas and methods to our staff. In doing this, our staff stays on top of the latest trends and techniques in the industry. In mid-November Serenity offered a class dedicated to new and refined bridal hair techniques which included the Glamour Set, Boho Set and a host of braiding methods.  We had eleven stylists in attendance and the class was a resounding success. A favorite technique of all the attendees was learning to set curls before the style, which translates to a better hold lasting longer and giving hair extra texture. We all came away.
